Shop Manager helps small shops in Nigeria track stock, sales and expenses. This page explains in plain words what information the service handles and why.

What we handle

Cookies and phone storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores a few small items on your phone (your access code so you stay logged in, your theme and display choices, and a saved copy of your records so the app can work with a weak connection). These are needed for the app to work. Clearing your browser data or logging out removes them. If a phone is shared or lost, log out or ask us to change the access code.

How it is used

Only to run the service for you: show your records, record new sales and expenses, keep your account active, and support you when you ask. We do not sell your information and we do not show ads.

The Assistant feature

When an owner asks the Assistant a question, the relevant shop figures are sent to an AI service (Claude, by Anthropic) to write the answer. Staff logins cannot use the Assistant. Do not type anything into it that you would not want processed this way.

Who else is involved

We only share what is needed for these services to work, or if the law requires it.

Where information is kept

Google, Vercel and Anthropic may process information on servers outside Nigeria. We choose providers that protect data, and we only send what is needed. We keep your shop records for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable time afterwards so you can return or collect your data, then delete them when you ask.

Children

Shop Manager is for businesses and is not meant for children under 18.

Your records and your customers

Your shop records are yours. If you record personal details about your customers, you are responsible for handling them fairly, and you decide why and how they are used, and Shop Manager only processes them on your behalf to run the service. Tell your customers, where needed, that you keep their details. Please enter only what you need. If something goes wrong with personal data, we will tell the affected shop and the authorities as the law requires. We aim to follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Keeping it safe

Each shop has its own sheet and its own access codes. Staff see less than owners (for example, they cannot see cost prices or profit). Keep your code private, and tell us at once if you think someone else has it so we can change it. You can also log out in Settings, and the app logs you out after a period of no activity.
